Welcome to Year 1/2. 

Here you will find links to our class newsletters, homework and information about events in Year 1/2. 

In year 1/2, your child will need a book bag which they will need to bring to school every day.  We love to read in Year 1/2 and we change our reading books every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Please keep your reading book at home in between so you can practise your reading skills with a grown-up. There is a little note in the front of your reading record that explains how best to read at home. In your child's reading record there is also a copy of the tricky words that we will be continuing to learn in phonics lessons. Daily practise of reading these tricky words will really help your child. A copy can also be found below, under the 'Phonics - Little Wandle' icon.

Children in year 1/2 are provided with free fruit at snack time during our morning playtime.  There is therefore no need to send in snack money or individual snacks for your child.

Our PE day is on a Monday. Please ensure your child comes into school in their school PE kit on this day. Information about our school PE kit can be found HERE .  On Wednesday afternoons we run a forest school session in our beautiful school woodland with Being Outdoors CIC.  Children need to come to school in clothes suitable for the woodland on a Wednesday (try to choose older things that you don't mind getting a bit dirty!).  Please also bring a pair of wellies or an old pair of trainers to change in to for our forest school afternoon.  These can be brought in each week or left in a bag on your child's coat peg.   Please ensure children have a warm, waterproof coat with them everyday, we always try to get outside at playtime, even if it is a little wet and we love learning outside too.
