We use Little Wandle to teach daily phonics at St George's. Children have a Little Wandle reading book to read at home,;this is carefully matched to our phonics teaching. Children also have guided reading sessions 3 times per week. This allows them to practise their decoding and blending skills and also teaches comprehension and prosody.

Below you will find the lists of tricky words that the children are required to read and spell. These words are 'tricky' because they can not be read phonetically. Please encourage your child to read these regularly; there is also a copy of these in their reading record diary.
