Art, craft and design both reflect and shape our history, and contribute to the culture, creativity and wealth of our nation. We seek to teach our pupils through the delivery of a high-quality art and design curriculum that drawing, painting, sculpture and other art, craft and design techniques embody some of the highest forms of human creativity.
At St George’s we want to engage, inspire and challenge pupils, equipping them with the knowledge and skills to experiment, invent and create their own works of art, craft and design. This is not only through producing creative work, but also by being able to evaluate and analyse creative works of art using appropriate language. We will also teach the children about great artists, craft makers and designers, and how to understand the historical and cultural development of their art forms.
